Take Action
Democracy doesn’t run on autopilot. Here are the tools I use and recommend for staying engaged and making your voice heard.
Contact Your Representatives
5 Calls
5calls.org — The fastest way to contact your elected officials by phone. Enter your zip code, pick an issue, and get a script. Calls are the most effective form of constituent contact — more effective than emails or letters.
Resistbot
resist.bot — Send a letter, fax, or email to your representatives via text message or the web. Great for when you want to go on record in writing. Resistbot also tracks your contacts so you can see your history.
Congress.gov
congress.gov/members/find-your-member — Find your senators and representatives directly. Useful for looking up voting records, bill sponsorships, and contact information.
Stay Informed
Ballotpedia
ballotpedia.org — Nonpartisan coverage of elections, candidates, and ballot measures at every level of government — federal, state, and local.
Vote.gov
vote.gov — Register to vote, check your registration status, and find your polling place.

Participate in all Elections
Federal elections get all the attention, but school boards, city councils, county commissioners, and state legislators make decisions that affect your daily life. Voter turnout in local elections is often below 20% — your vote carries more weight than you think.
